The Brooks Element presents the inaugural Student-Athlete Development Innovation Summit (SADIS), October 18-20, 2019. The 2019 SADIS, hosted by the Charlotte 49ers Athletics, is designed to educate and train athletics administrators on how to develop innovative student-athlete development programs at a high level.
Participants in this summit will learn how and receive continuing education on building and sustaining a holistic student-athlete development program, creating curriculum for workshops, maximizing campus and external speakers, and identifying how to gain buy-in from key stakeholders. Over the course of this 3-day summit, we will also discuss best practices for program execution, learn from established professionals in the industry, and create an action plan to bring back to campus. SADIS is about Inspiring Innovation!

During the opening session enjoy the speakers as we Kick Off the Innovation Summit.
CIAA Commissioner, Jacqie McWilliams, will welcome us to Charlotte and speak on the importance of strategically planning your career path.
NCAA Acting Director of Leadership Development, DeeDee Merritt, will discuss the importance of student-athlete development in college athletics.
The Brooks Element Evolve Speaker, Will Baggett, will school us on having a professional presence as a student-athlete development professional.

The ultra-talented The Brooks Element Evolve Speakers, Dr. Jodi Merriday, Nico Darras and Eric Smith will begin the day with full group discussions.
During the morning breakout sessions we will experience a variety of topics that will be extremely beneficial to your development and the development of your program. The focus of the morning breakout sessions will be Building Curriculum, Program Implementation (Effective Programming & Speaker Review) and Stakeholder Buy-In.
Welcome to the SADIS Shark Tank, where you are the Shark! Numerous speakers and companies will pitch to you why you should invest in their programs or products!
Take a deeper dive into our next group of topics during the afternoon breakout sessions. We will cover Career Development, Leadership Development and Program Resources (Fundraising, Corporate Sponsors, Partnerships).

To start day three we will hear from Maricela Shukie, Co-Founder of Forward Progress Athletics Consulting, on Empowering Your SAAC Organization.
Let's bring it home with the Summit's final breakout sessions where the topics will be Program Assessment & Strategic Planning and Marketing (Sell the Story).
We will end SADIS with a discussion on Action Planning. What will you do when you get back to campus?
